This class is a cooperative effort between Small Factory and Speech Start. This group is appropriate for all “tech-loving” children who have difficulty finding, making and remaining friends with peers. This group is great for children who have a known diagnosis or may just need a little social guidance. Minecraft, computer games and SiLAS (Socially Interactive Learning Avatar Software) are used to foster social interaction.
During this 10 week program actors will play theatre games, brainstorm and write an original script for whatever they want to perform (commercial, skit, news show, music video etc)! Students will then participate in the creation of costumes and props for their vision. Once props are made and script is written, students will get to take turns filming scenes. After filming, each student will get to put their own spin on the footage in editing.
